Dr. Anil Kohli Leads Health and Awareness Camp
Khoor: In an effort to strengthen preventive healthcare and promote early disease detection in rural communities, a comprehensive Health and Awareness Camp was organised at Village Khoor, Pataudi, under the leadership of renowned dental surgeon and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Anil Kohli.
The camp brought together healthcare professionals, academic institutions, industry representatives, and community volunteers to provide screening services and raise awareness around disease prevention. The initiative was supported by Shri Ramesh Juneja, Chairman, Mankind Pharma, and guided by Shri Anil Rajput, President - Corporate Affairs, ITC Limited.
The programme focused on transforming routine health screening into a broader preventive healthcare initiative by combining clinical assessment with health education, early diagnosis, risk-factor identification, and lifestyle modification. Dr. Dheeraj Bhatia, MD Medicine, Consultant Physician and Cardiologist, played an active role in integrating oral health, diabetes screening, eye care, general health assessment, and cardiac evaluation into the camp.
The camp was organised in collaboration with Manav Rachna Dental College, SGT Medical College, and ITS Dental College. Teams of healthcare professionals, faculty members, students, volunteers, and mobile dental vans participated in the initiative, providing services to residents of Khoor and nearby villages. The mobile dental vans helped extend preventive oral healthcare services and oral health education to the rural population.

Oral health screening by Dr. Anil Kohli
The initiative witnessed participation from over 3,000 community members. More than 500 patients were screened during the camp, including over 280 dental check-ups, more than 100 general health check-ups for blood pressure and blood sugar, over 80 eye screening consultations, and more than 30 oral cancer screenings.
Special emphasis was placed on the early detection of oral cancer. Villagers were educated about the risks associated with tobacco use, poor oral hygiene, and delayed diagnosis. Individuals found with suspicious oral lesions or other health concerns were referred for further evaluation and treatment.
In addition, more than 40 patients received on-the-spot dental treatment through mobile dental vans deployed by Manav Rachna Dental College, SGT Medical College, and ITS Dental College. Over 10 ECGs were conducted on-site for special cardiac cases with support from Dr. Bhatia. A parallel blood donation drive was also organised, during which more than 100 voluntary blood donations were collected.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Anil Kohli said, “Awareness is the first medicine, prevention is the best treatment, and a healthy community is our greatest achievement.” He highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups, maintaining oral hygiene, avoiding tobacco, adopting healthy lifestyle practices, and seeking timely medical advice for the early detection of diseases.
Dr. Kohli expressed his gratitude to Shri Ramesh Juneja, Shri Anil Rajput, Dr. Dheeraj Bhatia, Mankind Pharma, Manav Rachna Dental College, SGT Medical College, ITS Dental College, healthcare professionals, faculty members, students, and volunteers for their valuable contribution to the initiative.
