Ahmedabad: Zydus Multispecialty and Cancer Hospital, Vadodara, has acquired the Vadodara Institute of Neurological Sciences (VINS) Hospital, expanding its footprint in specialised neurological care. The acquisition adds a 50-bed dedicated neurology and neurosurgery facility to Zydus Hospitals' existing 300-bed multispecialty and cancer hospital in the city.

With this integration, Zydus Hospitals aims to strengthen its neuro-care services and improve access to specialised neurological diagnosis, treatment, and surgical interventions for patients in and around Vadodara.

Commenting on the development, Pankaj Patel, Chairman, Zydus Hospitals, said the integration of VINS Hospital would enhance the group’s capabilities in neurosciences by bringing together clinical expertise and advanced medical infrastructure under a single system.

The expanded neuroscience portfolio will focus on the management of complex neurological conditions, including brain and spinal tumours, aneurysms, movement disorders, stroke, trauma, deep brain stimulation (DBS), and comprehensive epilepsy care, including surgical interventions.

Founded over two decades ago by Dr Monish Malhotra, VINS Hospital has established itself as a specialised neurological care centre in Vadodara. As part of the integration, senior clinicians including Dr Suresh Nayak, Dr Rakesh Shah and Dr Mihir Acharya will join the Zydus Hospitals team, which also includes specialists such as Dr Chaturbhuj Rathore and Dr Bhagwati Salgotra.

Zydus Hospitals, established in 2012, operates a network of tertiary care hospitals across Gujarat, with facilities in Ahmedabad, Anand and Vadodara, and upcoming centres in Ghodasar (Ahmedabad), Surat and Rajkot. The hospital group offers multispecialty services supported by in-house diagnostics, rehabilitation and allied care services.
