The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for collaboration across research, innovation, training, and industry exposure. By combining Sharda University’s academic strengths with Akums’ manufacturing capabilities and R&D ecosystem, the partnership seeks to accelerate the development of future-ready pharmaceutical solutions and enhance employability among students.
A key focus of the collaboration will be joint research in trending and next-generation molecules and advanced drug delivery technologies. The partnership will also facilitate technology transfer, enabling promising academic research to be translated into commercially viable pharmaceutical products. Under the MoU, students from Sharda University will gain access to structured internship programs at Akums’ manufacturing facilities. These internships will provide hands-on exposure to real-world pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality systems, regulatory practices, and R&D processes. Additionally, industrial visits will be organized to help students understand large-scale pharmaceutical operations and industry best practices.
The collaboration will also include jointly organized seminars, and technical training programs. These initiatives are designed to enhance students’ practical knowledge, industry readiness, and technical competencies, thereby improving their employability and career prospects in the pharmaceutical and allied sectors.
Akums and Sharda University will also collaborate on joint project development initiatives, focusing on translating academic innovations into market-ready solutions.
Commenting on the collaboration, Arushi Jain Director of Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals, said, “At Akums, we strongly believe that meaningful industry–academia partnerships are critical for driving innovation and building a future-ready pharmaceutical ecosystem.
