Cough syrup turns fatal for toddler in Jharkhand
Koderma: A cough syrup purchased from a private medical store allegedly turned deadly for a one-and-a-half-year-old girl in Jharkhand’s Koderma district, triggering alarm over medicine safety.
The tragic incident occurred late Saturday evening in Lokai Bhuiyan Tola, under the jurisdiction of Koderma police station.
Earlier Parliament was informed that Multiple regulatory actions had been initiated following inspections that uncovered substandard drugs, including a toxic cough syrup linked to child deaths in Madhya Pradesh, with 700 cough syrup manufacturing units audited nationwide as part of an intensified crackdown.
