Himachal: Regional Hospital Chief Pharmacist Dies in Tragic Road Accident

Shimla: The chief pharmacist of the Regional Hospital in Solan lost her life in a tragic road accident on Friday evening after the car she was travelling in collided with a truck on the Parwanoo-Dharampur highway near Jabli, police officials stated.

The deceased was identified as Kavita Kumari (44), who was posted as the chief pharmacist at the Regional Hospital, Solan. She was travelling in a car bearing registration number HP48-B-2572 along with her family members when the mishap occurred.

According to police, the car rammed into a road divider after the driver lost control, following which it collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction. The accident took place near the gate of the HEPL industrial unit at Jabli.

Kumari’s husband, Surinder Pal, and their 15-year-old daughter, Kanika, were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Both sustained minor injuries and were immediately shifted to the ESIC Hospital in Parwanoo for medical treatment.

Solan Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh stated that Kumari was initially alive after the accident but succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the hospital. He added that her husband and daughter are stable and undergoing treatment.

According to a recent media report in The Tribune, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and the reasons behind the driver losing control of the vehicle.

Further proceedings will be carried out based on the outcome of the investigation.
