Lupin unveils schizophrenia drug Lurasidone Hydrochloride in US

Mumbai: Global pharma major Lupin Limited has announced the launch of Lurasidone Hydrochloride Tablets, 20 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, 80 mg and 120 mg in the United States.

The product is a generic equivalent of Latuda Tablets of Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Lurasidone is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of schizophrenia in adults and children 13 years of age and older. 

Lurasidone Hydrochloride Tablets, 20 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, 80 mg and 120 mg (RLD Latuda) had estimated annual sales of USD 4.2 billion in the U.S. (IQVIA MAT December 2022).

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the company had launched Paliperidone Extended-Release Tablets, 1.5 mg, 3 mg, 6 mg, and 9 mg in the United States.
