Mumbai: Sanofi India Limited has received an order from the State Tax Officer, Tiruvallur Assessment Circle, accepting the company's submissions and dropping a total tax demand of Rs 1,06,78,760 along with interest and penalty for the financial year 2022-23.

The order relates to proceedings initiated under Section 73 of the Tamil Nadu Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (TNGST Act) and the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (CGST Act) in connection with the company’s GSTR filings for FY 2022-23. The proceedings were initiated after significant differences or anomalies were identified in the company’s GST filings for the relevant financial year.

Following consideration of the company’s submissions, the State Tax Officer, Tiruvallur Assessment Circle, issued the order dropping the total tax demand of Rs 1,06,78,760, along with the associated interest and penalty. The order was received by Sanofi India on September 21, 2026.

With the order, the proceedings initiated under Section 73 of the TNGST/CGST Act, 2017 for FY 2022-23 have been concluded. The company has stated that there are no additional dues pending in relation to these proceedings.

Sanofi India’s filing was addressed to both BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited in connection with the tax order.

The company has stated that the order has no material impact on its financial, operational or other activities. The tax proceedings for FY 2022-23 have therefore been concluded without any additional dues remaining pending against the company.
