First-Year B.Pharm Student Killed in Medchal Road Accident

According to police, the dump truck was stationary at the toll-plaza when Ashwin Kumar's bike collided from behind. The impact was so severe that Ashwin was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The friend, whose name has not been disclosed yet, is reported to be in stable condition under treatment. Investigators revealed that the dump truck driver has been taken into custody for questioning and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law.

Ashwin, the youngest and only son in his family, was to celebrate his first college semester end next week. The college principal and classmates paid tribute, describing him as a cheerful student with a bright future. The college has announced grief counselling and is coordinating with family representatives.

According to The Hindu report, the accident has triggered demands from student groups and local residents for better lighting and safety measures at the toll-plaza, where multiple accidents have been reported in recent months. Officials from the regional traffic police have promised a review of the stretch and implementation of urgent safety enhancements.
