DHS Manipur Invites Applications For Nomination Of National Florence Nightingale Nurses Award 2024, details

Manipur: The Directorate of Health Services (DHS Manipur) has invited applications from deserving nursing personnel working under the jurisdiction of heads of all health institutions (private hospitals. Mission hospitals, hospitals run by NGOs, and nursing institutions for the nomination of the National Florence Nightingale Nurses Award For the year, 2024.

Selection criteria, application form, guidelines for preparing the resume of the nominee, the composition of the State Level Selection Committee, and procedure for selection of nominees for the award are enclosed in Annexure I to V in the notice below.

The heads need to enclose the Minutes of the Meeting of the Selection Committee constituted as per the approved Guidelines along with the signatures of all the Members of the Committee as per the quorum of the State / UT Selection Committee. In case any Member of the committee is not present the recommendations will not be considered. Nomination in any case should not be sent without the recommendation of the State Selection Committee. If the nomination is received without the recommendation that will not be considered by the Central Selection Committee.

On completion of the selection process outlined above, the names of the nominees along with their resumes and documentary proof in support of the claim for the award may be forwarded to the PRESIDENT, Indian Nursing Council, 8th floor, NBCC Centre, Plot No. 2, Community Centre, Okhla Phase-I New Delhi -110020 latest by 31 January 2024 (Tel. No.011-66616801).

The following important aspects in view, while forwarding the nominations –

1. Wide publicity may be given in the State to all the concerned Stakeholders by issuing necessary circulars and uploading the enclosed documents on the official website of the State Government.

2. It may please be ensured that applications for the nominations are received from Private and Missionary institutions also apart from government institutions.

3. Representatives of the Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) at the State Level or Associations should be included in the Selection Committee.

4. It should be ensured that the panel of names should include nominations from each of the three categories i.e. Nurses, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives and Lady Health Visitors.

5. It should be ensured that only such candidates are nominated who fulfill the criteria and proven evidence of outstanding work in their field and all the nominations are to be placed before the State Selection Committee meeting.

It is requested to write "Confidential- NFNA-2024" on the top of the envelope. Please note that incomplete application shall not be considered.

Incomplete application or application received after the prescribed date or without forwarded by the prescribed authorities will not be eligible for consideration of award and no further reference in the matter will be made.

Application in the prescribed Proforma should be accompanied by –

1. Two passport-size photographs.

2. Biodata with qualification and registration certificates, summary of achievements & documents in support thereof (as desired in the criteria).

3. Draft Citation (not exceeding one page).

Eligibility criteria –

Minimum 10 years of experience in the respective category. In case of extraordinary performance age may not be a constraint.

The nominations should be called from the State Government, Central Government, Private Institutions/Missionaries and Prominent Voluntary Organisations of the concerned State. All nominations should be handled by the Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) of the concerned State except Central Government Institutions, and Autonomous Organisations.

Also, in the case of Autonomous bodies the application/nominations are to be accepted only if these are routed through its competent authorities as given below –

AIIMS, all States

AIIMS, New Delhi

Railways – Southern, Northern, Western etc.

Railways Head Quarters, Delhi

MNS

ADGMNS, IHQ of MOD (Army), Delhi

ESI Hospitals, All States

Head Office, ESI Hospital, Delhi

RML Hospital / Safdarjung Hospital / LHMC etc.

A competent Authority / Nodal Officer is formed to select the nominations

All the Central Govt. Institutions such as Paramilitary Services, ESI Hospitals, Railways etc. shall send the nominations through their Selection Committee of the Organization. Also, all the autonomous bodies such as AIIMS, Universities etc. shall have its own Selection Committee and shall send the nominations through the Head of the Organization as stated in the above table.

The applications of the recommended Awardees must invariably be sent after the selection by the State Selection Committee headed by Secretary, Health & Family Welfare. No nomination in any case should be sent without considering and recommendation of the State Selection Committee. If the nomination is received without the recommendation that will not be considered by the Central Selection Committee.

The nurse to be selected for a national meritorious award should furnish documents in support of her/his claim for the perusal of the Selection Committee that she/he has performed beyond the normal expectation of the job when compared to others with equivalent attributes. The instructions/checklists of the documents for preparing the resume of the nominee are enclosed in Annexure-III in the notice below.

The Criteria for evaluation of Auxiliary Nurses & Midwife, Registered Nurses and Midwives & Registered Lady Health Visitors (Nurse Educator, Administration and Clinical Nurses) are placed at Annexure-IV in the notice below. The composition of the Central and State Selection Committee is placed in Annexure-V in the notice below.
