Recently at the 15th annual celebration of Himachal Maha Sabha union health minister JP Nadda has welcomed the idea of reemploying retired doctors in the central hospitals. This time their employment can be considered on a contractual basis, as stated by Nadda.
Nadda is also reported to have stated AIIMS as one such option for reemployment as part of this new development. This initiative by the centre gives an opportunity for many doctors including a number of top doctors, originally from Himachal to avail this offer. Most of these doctors were employed with or now have retired from top hospitals in Chandigarh region, and the rest of Himachal.
