Each district will get medical college: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel
Bemetara: In a decision that is likely to bring rejoice to medical aspirants and boost healthcare facilities in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced that a medical college will be established in every district in the State.
As per the Minister, the initial plan was to open one medical institute in every Lok Sabha constituency. He added that the arrangements are taking place to start medical colleges in the districts of Bemetara and Janjgir, whereas medical colleges have been opened in Korba, Kanker, Mahasamund, and Durg districts.
Further comparing the doctor-patient ratio of the State with that of Karnataka, Baghel stated that in Karnataka, one doctor serves 1700 people, whereas, in Chhattisgarh, one doctor serves around 7000 people.

Taking note of the crisis, a decision has been taken to build medical colleges in every district, reports The Pioneer.
The Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi at a virtual event, had said that the government is making efforts to ensure that a medical college is present at every district of the country or an institution for post-graduation medical education in India.
