On the way to forensic exam, Kanker medical college MBBS student dies in road accident

Nadanmara: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a medical student from Government Medical College, Kanker, after a speeding vehicle hit the motorcycle he was riding along with his friend on his way to appear for the Forensic Science examination.

The incident took place on Saturday when he and his friend had started from the Alberapara hostel and were heading towards the college. At the time, when they reached near a bypass road, a speeding pickup vehicle coming from the Jagdalpur side hit their motorcycle.

Due to the collision, the student who was riding the bike suffered severe injuries in the crash, while his friend sustained minor injuries. Following this, some fellow students immediately rushed both of them to Komaldeo Hospital. The student was later referred to Raipur for advanced treatment, but he died during treatment on Sunday.

His death has left the college and his friends deeply saddened. His classmates accompanied his mortal remains to his native village, reports Amar Ujala

They have raised concerns over the safety of the bypass road where the accident occurred. They said there are no speed breakers or CCTV cameras in the area, and accidents happen frequently.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a first-year MBBS student of Dimrapal Medical College, Jagdalpur, succumbed to his injuries three days after a road accident near Nagarnar. a female student who was riding pillion with him also sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment.

The accident took place on Sunday morning, when a group of MBBS students went on a short trip to Tiriya. While returning, the bike ridden by the student reportedly lost control and collided with a truck parked on the roadside at Nagarnar.
