Sree Gokulam medical college House surgeon booked after fatal road accident

Road Accident
Thiruvananthapuram: Police have booked a House Surgeon attached to Sree Gokulam Medical College Hospital, after an 18-year-old youth died in a road accident near Venjaramoodu recently.
The teen lost his life in a road accident after a motorcycle he was travelling on was allegedly hit by a speeding car driven by the accused doctor.
The police have booked the doctor under Sections 281, 125(a), 125(b), and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), dealing with rash and negligent driving, acts endangering human life, causing grievous hurt, and causing death by negligence.
The deceased has been identified as a native of Kuttikkadu in Kadakkal, Kollam. The accident took place around 1:30 am on Sunday at Keezhayikkonam Junction near Venjaramoodu.

According to the police, the car involved in the accident was allegedly being driven by a House Surgeon attached to the medical college. Another person who reportedly travelled in the car was also a house surgeon.
Explaining the incident, the police said, as reported by Onmanorama, that the accused was driving a car from the Vamanapuram side towards Venjaramoodu in a rash and negligent manner and at excessive speed.
After coming near Keezhayikkonam Junction, the car reportedly rammed into a motorcycle being ridden by a man, who was travelling from Venjaramoodu towards Kilimanoor, with teen riding pillion. Due to the impact, both riders were thrown onto the road and sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to Sree Gokulam Medical College Hospital, where Subin succumbed to his injuries around 2.10 am.
Following the incident, the body was shifted to Government Medical College Hospital for postmortem. His body will be handed over to his family after the examinations.
After this, the police registered an FIR against the house surgeon and an investigation is underway.
