Rohtak: A doctor attached to Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak has registered a complaint against a female attendant of a patient alleging that she abused, misbehaved with and assaulted him.
As per a recent media report in The Tribune, the woman was accompanying a patient inside the ward but when the doctor asked her to leave, she resorted to violence and manhandled the doctor.
The doctor, deputed at Ward No. 5 of PGIMS requested the woman to leave the ward before the senior doctors would start their rounds; however, the attendant refused to listen and started abusing him. The doctor also alleged that he was also manhandled by the female attendant.
The Tribune reports that the doctor further mentioned in his complaint, "After the incident, I informed one of my seniors who rushed to the ward and tried to pacify the woman, but she kept abusing me." After this, the doctor lodged a formal complaint against the attendant.
Last month a similar incident took place in West Bengal where an on-duty doctor and two nurses, attached to Block Primary Health Centre (BPHC) of West Bengal's Murshidabad district, were brutally assaulted by the family members of a patient after the hospital advised them to take the patient to another better facility.
