Dr Nowsheen Zaffar appointed as Deputy Medical Superintendent of GMC Jammu
Jammu: Dr Nowsheen Zaffar has been appointed as the Deputy Medical Superintendent at Government Medical College (GMC Jammu). The doctor has been appointed on probation for two years.
An order has been issued by the Civil Secretariat, Jammu/Srinagar, Health & Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir on 1st May 2023. Dr Zaffar has been working as a senior resident doctor at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences.
" The above candidates shall report to Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu. In case of failure of the appointee to join within a period of twenty-one (21) days from the date of issuance of this appointment order, she shall forego her appointment, which shall be deemed to have been cancelled ab-initio without any further notice," stated the order.
The doctor has been asked to submit the Date of Birth Certificate, Qualification Certificates, Domicile Certificate, Health Certificate from the Standing Medical Board, Reserved Category Certificate, and other documents before joining. It has been further stated that the appointment of the candidate as Deputy Medical Superintendent shall further be subject to the verification/genuineness of the qualification certificates from the concerned issuing authorities. The salary of the appointee shall not be drawn and disbursed to her unless satisfactory reports in this regard are received in her favour.
The appointment of the doctor shall be governed by the "New Pension Scheme" as per SRO-400 of 2009 dated 24.12.2022 and she will receive a salary at par with Pay Level 11 (67700-208700). The order was signed by Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department. A copy of the order has been sent to the Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Joint Secretary (JK&l), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Director, Archives, Archaeology & Museums, Secretary, J&K Public Service Commission, Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu and other concerned authorities, reads the order.
The Government Medical College, Jammu, also known as GMC Jammu, is a medical college located in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It was established in 1973. This institution was started with the aim to train fifty medical students for MBBS courses per year and to serve as the referral hospital for Jammu Province. But now the seating capacity has been increased to 180 students per year. Besides the MBBS course, the college also imparts Post-graduate Training Course.
