MBBS student of Sapthagiri Medical College dies after fatal car accident in Mysuru
Mysuru: In a tragic incident, an MBBS student from Sapthagiri Medical College and an engineering student lost their lives while four others sustained minor injuries in a fatal car accident on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway after celebrating New Year's Eve.
The incident occurred when the speeding SUV carrying six passengers, including the medical student and the engineering student, collided with a Ford car. The impact resulted in the SUV crossing over the road divider and crashing on the opposite side.
The accident claimed the lives of two students while four others in the car sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a private hospital in Mysuru.

As per a Star of Mysore news report, the deceased students have been identified as 19-year-old Singh, an MBBS student at Sapthagiri Medical College and 20-year-old engineering student at BEMS Engineering College, Bengaluru. Both of them hailed from Bihar.
The medico succumbed to injuries at the K.R. Hospital in Mysuru.
The group was travelling in a KIA 7-seater SUV from Bengaluru to Mysuru after the New Year celebration. The accident occurred at 3.15 am when their speeding SUV collided with a Ford car entering the main carriageway of the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway from the service road at Gowripura near K. Shettihalli.
According to the police, the SUV was travelling at a speed of 120 to 130 kmph, and due to the impact, the SUV flew over the road divider, crashing onto the other side of the road.
Srirangapatna Rural Police Station has registered a case of accidental death and an investigation is underway headed by Srirangapatna Inspector B.G. Kumar.
Following the death of the two students, their bodies were sent to JSS Medical College Hospital for post-mortem and have been handed over to family members and are being transported to Patna.
