Thiruvananthapuram:  For the first time in a Government Medical College Hospital in Kerala, an Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) angioplasty was successfully conducted on a 63-year-old heart patient here on Tuesday.

The very complicated surgery was conducted at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital by a team of cardiologists led by cardiology department head Dr Sunitha Viswas.
