Kerala: Female Duty Doctor collapses, dies under mysterious circumstances

Sasthamkotta: A 52-year-old female doctor attached to Attapady Tribal Hospital died under mysterious circumstances on Monday while she was on her way to the facility. The medical practitioner suddenly collapsed after which he was rushed to a hospital, however, she passed away.
The post mortem report is awaited, hence the reason behind her death is yet to be disclosed.
The deceased has been identified as a native of Sooranad. As per the recent media report by Kerala Kaumudi, the doctor was on her way to report for her duty when she suddenly collapsed at around 8 a.m. on Monday. She was going to report to Attappady Tribal Hospital when she suddenly became unconscious and collapsed on the hospital premises.
She was immediately rushed to Coimbatore Hospital but there were no doctors present. Even after several attempts, the doctor could not be saved. She is survived by her husband Vijayamadhavan, daughter Eeswari and son Bharath.
At a time like this when doctors are extending their services day and night in order to contain the pandemic, the sudden death of a doctor has brought into the medical community. However, the reason for her death has not been disclosed yet. Her funeral took place on Monday evening at Soorand.
For the last few months, there have been several incidents where doctors succumbed to COVID or other comorbidities, thereby, the medical fraternity losing front line COVID warriors during crucial times.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Dr. BS Chavan, the Director of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), sector 32 passed away at the age of 59 on Friday after putting up a battle against cancer. The doctor was suffering from cancer for a long time and was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer of the large intestine in 2019.
