Jabalpur: The homeopathy and Ayush practitioners of Jabalpur have started protesting against the district authorities who conducted raids in several clinics during the last few weeks. The association of homeopathy practitioners claimed that the district authorities have conducted raids in some of their clinics and termed them as quacks without any ground.

The association stated that such raids have let patients question the efficiency of Homeopathy and Ayush practitioners but the health authorities did not take any initiative to share the findings of the raids to restore their reputation.
Utterly disappointed by the way their reputation has been tarnished due to these raids, the doctors have shown protest in front of the office of the health department of Jabalpur. As per a recent media report by IBC 24, the protesting doctors stated that ayurvedic and homeopathy are both traditional disciplines of medicine and the degrees in these disciplines are granted by the central government. Only after receiving their degrees from concerned authorities do the doctor start practicing and treating the patients. Under such circumstances, terming them as quotes and questioning their treatment is not justified, added the association.
The doctors have recently communicated with the health department officials who assured them that proper investigation will be conducted and their complaint will be duly noted. Dr. Sunil, a member of the Homeopathy Doctors' Association stated that if anyone wants to take a step against any Ayush practitioner then he has to consider the opinion of the Ayush medical officer. He further stated that such investigation against any practitioner can create great damage to the reputation.
Hence, they demanded that after each investigation CMOH should issue a press release and clarify whether they found any misconduct by the facility or the doctor. Dr. Sanjay Mishra, the Joint Director of Health Department stated, " We also want that people should get better treatment. We are not prejudiced against any discipline and respect both streams of medicine. I have duly considered the points highlighted by the homeopathy practitioners and I will be communicating those to the higher authorities to reach a solution of the problems."
