Indore: The State Medical Education Department intends to propose the appointment of IAS officers to manage the daily businesses of 13 medical colleges in the state, suggests a recent media report by The Times of India.
As per the Times of India, certain sources informed that officers of the Indian Administrative Services and those of the state services, will be appointed as administrators.
However, the senior officials of the state government dismissed all such reports and made a statement declaring they had no information about such a proposal. Medical education minister Vishwash Sarang disproved these claims according to which there had been a proposal to appoint administrative officers for 13 medical colleges to boost health services, reports TOI.
He further informed the general public that any decision to appoint administrators in hospitals and medical colleges will be only taken only after weighing all aspects of the proposal.
Dr. Rakesh Malviya, General secretary of the association, is against any such appointment as he believes that rather than improving the condition of medical colleges such appointments would spoil the system.
