Madhya Pradesh: 9 NEET aspirants had apparently lost their chance to appear for the only National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for pursuing medical education as transportation was not arranged within the due time.
According to TOI, the authorities have found that 2 primary school teachers and a middle school teacher were given the responsibility of making arrangements of transportation to take the aspirants to their respective exam centres at Indore. The Khargone District Education Officer has issued the suspension letters of the three teachers following the incident. Other than that, he has also proposed to stop the increments of 2 officers.
9 students from Madhya Pradesh were supposed to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test on September 13 and they had to travel to Indore from Khargone to appear for the exam. Two primary teachers and one middle school teacher were given the responsibility of arranging proper vehicle which can take the students to their exam centres in Indore and also can bring them back to their respective homes safely; however, the authorities reportedly found out that due to the inefficiency of the teachers in performing their duties, the students failed to attend their NEET examination.
According to the Times of India, after the incident came to light Khargone District Education Officer KK Dongre suspended the two teachers with immediate effect. Other than that, he has also submitted a proposal to the divisional commissioner urging him to hold the two increments of the Segav block education officer and the Shegav excellence school principal.
The medical aspirants now will have to wait another year if they want to pursue their medical career. Hence the aggravated students have also met Khargone collector Anugraha P and elaborated him the whole incident and how this can greatly affect their career. Taking cognizance of the plight of the students, the collector has already talked to the students and their parents and also had discussions with the government officials. She had instructed the authority concerned to arrange for coaching for the students immediately.
