7 MBBS students killed in road accident, PM Modi announces Rs 2 lakh ex gratia each

Mumbai: In an unfortunate incident, seven MBBS students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, OSD of the Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences were killed in a car accident after their vehicle suffered a 40-feet plunge from the Nagpur-Tuljapur highway onto a riverbed on Tuesday.
An official told PTI that all seven students died on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Neeraj Chauhan (First Year MBBS), Nitesh Singh (2015 Intern MBBS), Vivek Nandan (2018, MBBS Final), Pratyush Singh (2017 MBBS), Shubham Jaiswal (2017 MBBS), and Pawan Shakti (2020 MBBS) and Avishkar, son of BJP MLA Vijay Rahangdale of Tirora Constituency in Gondia district.
