Maharashtra Health Minister Dr Tanajirao Sawant receives International recognition for World's Largest Medical Camp

Mumbai: Dr Tanajirao Sawant, Maharashtra's Health and Family Welfare Minister, has been internationally honoured for his significant contribution to public health by organizing the world's largest medical camp.

This milestone achievement earned him a certificate from the International Book of Records, officially recognizing the scale and impact of this unprecedented event.

According to the PTI report, the historic medical camp took place on July 18th, 2024, in Pandharpur, a well-known pilgrimage town in the Solapur district of Maharashtra. The event was an enormous success, attracting a staggering 15,12,774 participants who received medical check-ups, making it the largest gathering of its kind globally. To manage such a vast operation, a dedicated team of 7,500 doctors and paramedics was assembled, all working in unison to provide essential health services to the attendees.

The success of the camp was a collaborative effort involving key figures such as Shivajirao Sawant, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Dr. Dilip Pawar, and the R.K. HIV AIDS Research & Care Centre. Their strategic planning and teamwork ensured the smooth and efficient operation of the camp, setting a new global benchmark for medical outreach.
