New Delhi: Within a few days of the Supreme Court allowing the three doctors accused in the suicide case of Dr. Payal Tadvi to continue their postgraduate medical courses, now the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has issued notices to two of the doctors seeking their clarification on the allegations of abetment.
The three postgraduate medical students were accused of harassing and ragging the deceased Dr. Tadvi which allegedly drove her to take her own life. Among the three doctors who were seniors to the deceased medico, two have already been registered under MMC. The Council has recently served notices to the two of them seeking to file a response and clarify their take on the allegations of harassment and abetment within a period of 15 days.
This came in wake of the council's ethical committee that would soon hold a hearing to decide whether medical licenses of the two doctors be suspended or canceled, confirms Dr Shivkumar Utture, MMC president.
