Meghalaya: Govt sign revised agreement on Shillong Medical College establishment
Shillong: The Meghalaya government will sign a revised agreement with the controversial Kali Pradip Chaudhuri (KPC) company which has not been able to build the Shillong Medical College now for almost nine years since 2012, Health and Family Welfare Minster, Alexander Laloo Hek said on Friday.
He said a new agreement has to be signed with the KPC for the setting of the Shillong Medical College since the site for constructing the medical college has been shifted from TB Hospital Mawprem to TB Hospital Umsawli at the New Shillong Township.

Hek also defended the KPC saying the company has no adverse antecedent.
The KPC, reportedly has to deal with some lawsuits in the United States where it was alleges that Dr Kali P Chaudhuri, a controversial doctor turned medical businessman, engaged in a fraud, racketeering and corruption with respect to a number of inter related medical companies.
