AIIMS Bhubaneswar inaugurates advanced robotic system for 'Divyanjan' patients

Bhubaneswar: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar recently announced that the Department Of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), AIIMS, Bhubaneswar harnessed with new possibilities for the patients with limited mobility " Divyanjans".

The department has articulated 3 units as Advanced Robotic-Assisted Therapy unit, Prosthetic & Orthotic Unit & Occupational Therapy Unit to its existing patient care capacity. All these units are now functional and exclusively dedicated for "Divyanjan" patients and patients suffering from mobility challenges.

The state-of-the-art robotic machine equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, which makes PMR Department of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar one of the unique medical facilities in whole eastern India and also among all newly established AIIMS. As per the facility's recent release, there is no doubt that this modern technology shall act as a boon for both patients and the management to reduce the overall time taken to restore lost mobility.

Now patients suffering from stroke, paraplegia, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury (SCI), brain injury, and other neurological disorder will take advantage of this new medical robotic technology.

In addition to that, it has now dedicated two new units, the is Prosthetic and Orthotic Unit and the other one is the Occupational Therapy Unit for the patients with locomotor, functional & Intellectual challenges.

"We are sure and like to extend our assurance to the people of Odisha & beyond, that together we can provide best treatment for those are in need. We are already in the process to bring the latest rehabilitation technology to our department, which will further enhance overall patient Care services," the release stated.
