Boudh: A young doctor attached to MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Berhampur Boudh was recently arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and cheating a woman under the pretext of marriage.
According to a recent media report in Orrisa Post, the doctor identified as a postgraduate student at MKCG Medical College was already married when he met the woman on a social media platform. The couple allegedly entered a relationship in 2019 and got involved in physical intimacy.
However, the woman alleged that the doctor has maintained a physical relationship with her and also exploited her while keeping her in dark about his being already married.
The woman in her complaint alleged that the doctor came in touch with her via social media, and soon they developed an intimate relationship after which he promised to marry her. However, the doctor had concealed from her about his own marital status.
When the women realized that the doctor had made false promises in order to exploit her, she filed a complaint at the local Mahila police station. Acting upon the complaint of the woman, the doctor was booked under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and the case has been forwarded to a local court.
Leveled under the alleged charges of cheating and sexual assault by the woman, the medico was placed under arrest
"After we received the complaint from the woman, we made the arrest yesterday," Berhampur SP told Orrisa Post.
