Odisha: MKCG Medical College student drowns to death in Rushikulya River
Odisha: A medico studying at Berhampur MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCGMCH) tragically lost his life recently when he accidentally slipped into the Huluhula Ganda of the Rushikulya River near Bhagabanpur village, located within the Sorada police limits in Ganjam district.
According to a recent report by Sambad, the victim belonged to the Berhampur City's Gosaninuagaon neighbourhood.
Sources told the daily that the medico had gone on a picnic journey to Huluhula Ganda with three of his colleagues. He then went into the water to have a bath, and an unfortunate slip forced him to fall into the deeper areas of the water. Suddenly, he was swept away by the current and gone missing, resulting in his terrible and early death. Despite his three friends' best attempts, they were unable to find the young medico.
Sambad English adds that after being notified, a team of firefighting personnel arrived on the scene and conducted a wild search. His body had been taken out after a hard night of struggling. The medico was then brought to a neighbouring community health clinic (CHC), where physicians announced him 'dead'.
Sorada police have retrieved the body and have launched an investigation into the event.
