JIPMER: Doctor assaulted in COVID ward, fellow medicos boycott duty
Puducherry: Doctors of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) here on Wednesday boycotted duty for some time following an attack on an on-duty doctor by a male nurse.
On September 1, a doctor was in the COVID ward when he was allegedly assaulted by a male nurse identified as Murugan. Triggered by the incident, the doctors gathered in front of the Administrative block and demanded action against the nurse.

To press their demand for action against a male nurse who allegedly assaulted a doctor, the doctors boycotted duty for some time. Soon after, the medical superintendent held talks with them.
The doctors submitted a memorandum to the Medical Superintendent demanding action against the nurse and resumed duty in the wake of the COVID situation, reports UNI.
