The doctor was booked based on a complaint moved by the 53-year-old patient, identified as an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) employed in the security of Congress district President Ashwani Sharma. He is a resident of Baba Deep Singh Nagar.
An FIR has been lodged against the doctor under Sections 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code on Wednesday after an investigation, confirms ASI Baldev Singh, one of the investigating officer of the case.
As per a recent media report, the patient visited a private hospital in May last year after suffering from certain health complications. There, the doctor allegedly administered an injection to the patient for his recovery. However, the patient alleged that after the injection was administered his skin got infected and his health started declining.
In fact, his condition deteriorated so much that he had to undergo surgery at Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana later. He further alleged that depressed and anxious by the deteriorating health condition of the patient, his wife also passed away on October 27, 2019, after facing tremendous mental pressure.

He told
Hindustan Times "I had filed a complaint with Jamalpur Police but no action was taken. Following this, I filed a complaint with the commissioner of police Rakesh Agrawal on December 3, 2019."
