Rajasthan: Govt approves Rs 500 crore budget provision for medical facilities to employees
Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has approved an additional budget provision of Rs 500 crore for payment of medical facilities to its employees, officials said.
This amount has been approved for October, November, and December months under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), they said.

A provision of Rs 1,045 crore was made by the state government for the financial year 2022-23 under the RGHS. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave financial approval of Rs 500 crore for the RGHS scheme for the next three months, an official statement said.
The main objective of the RGHS scheme is to provide cashless medical treatment to government employees and pensioners. The cost of the treatment is borne by the state government, according to officials.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has been apprised about the progress under NHM during FY 2020-21, including an accelerated decline in MMR, IMR, U5MR, and TFR.
It also noted the progress in respect of various diseases programmes like TB, Malaria, Kala-Azar, Dengue, Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Viral Hepatitis, etc.

NHM is implemented for universal benefit – i.e. entire population; services are offered to everyone visiting the public healthcare facilities with a special focus on the vulnerable sections of the society.
Point-wise details:
The Cabinet noted the role of NHM as implementing agency for the Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Package (ECRP) Phase-I to accelerate health system preparedness for immediate responsiveness for early prevention, detection, and management of COVID-19. ECRP-I is a 100% centrally supported intervention and an amount of Rs. 8,147.28 crores were allocated to States/UTs for the period up to 31.03.2021.
