2 NEET Candidates Denied Entry at Exam Centre over metal buttons

Tamil Nadu- The National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) exam for the academic year 2025 was held on Sunday, May 4. On the day, two female candidates were stopped from entering the examination centre in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, due to metal buttons on their clothes.
Both students were stopped at an examination centre at Thirumuruganpundi, Tamil Nadu, where a thorough check was held before the exam.
According to a report in IndiaToday , in one instance, with limited time before the examination, the student with multiple buttons on her dress was able to proceed. However, her relatives provided her with a razor blade to remove the buttons, after which she was allowed to enter the centre.
Meanwhile, the second student found her dress unwearable without buttons; but a woman police officer from Tamil Nadu helped her and took her to a nearby shop to buy a new dress. She returned to the exam hall on time.
