Chennai: With the MBBS admission process going on for this academic year 2020, the Directorate of Medical Education and Selection Committee (TN Health) has released the fee structure for MBBS course at self-financing medical colleges in the state.

All the concerned candidates who are vying to pursue MBBS in the state of Tamil Nadu can now view the MBBS fee details of private medical colleges as mentioned below.

The fee structure for Self-financing Medical Colleges has been adopted as fixed by the Fee Committee constituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu during the academic year 2020-2021.

Fee for MBBS admission under Government Quota

6 private Medical Colleges including Tagore Medical College and Hospital, Chennai, Karpaga Vinayaga Medical College, Kancheepuram District, Annapoorna Medical College and Hospital, Salem District, Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Trichy District, KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Coimbatore District, and Madha Medical College and Hospital, Chennai will charge Rs 3.85 per student for MBBS admission under Govt quota this year.

The MBBS fee amounting to Rs 3.9 lakh has been set for admission at Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences & Research, Coimbatore District and Sri Mookambikai Institute of Medical Sciences, Kanyakumari District.

Students seeking admission to PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Coimbatore District, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College, Perambalur District and Panimalar Medical College and Hospital and Research Institute, Poonnamallee, Chennai will have to pay Rs 4 lakh

Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kancheepuram District is charging Rs 3.6 lakh per MBBS seat while Velammal Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Madurai Dist has the highest fee for MBBS admission under Govt quota for Rs 4.15 per student.

Fee for MBBS admission under Management Quota

All of the aforementioned 13 private medical colleges are charging Rs 12.5 lakh per student for MBBS admission under Management quota.

Students seeking MBBS admission at Christian Medical College will have to pay Rs.48,330/-.

Besides, Madha Medical College will be charging, Rs. 23,50,000/ for NRI quota and Rs. 20,50,000/ for NRI lapsed.

For Paninralar Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Chennai, the MBBS fee is fixed at Rs.23,50,000/- for NRI Quota and Rs. 20,50,000/- for NRI Lapsed students.

The fee structure includes tuition fee, Admission fee, Special fee, Laboratory/computer / Internet fee, Library fee, Sports fee, Maintenance and Amenities fee, extracurricular activities fee, and other recurring expenditure. In addition to the above fees, the institution is permitted to collect an amount of Rs.25,000/- per student as development fee.

The Madha Medical College and Paninralar Medical College authorities had moved the fee regulatory committee for seeking fee fixation at Rs. 27 lakh and Rs 35 lakh Per Student respectively. However, considering the present position all over the world due to COVID -19, the committee inclined to fix the fees as was fixed to other medical colleges for the present academic year 2020 -2021.

The MBBS fee for Government quota at Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kancheepuram District has been amended by the concerned authorities to 4 lakh this academic session. Previously, it was set at Rs 3.6 lakh.

Velammal Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Madurai Dist has seen a decrease in its fee structure as per the amendment released by TN Health. The institute was earlier supposed to be charging Rs 4.15 lakh but now its fee has been fixed to 3.9 lakh. Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Trichy District will now charge 3.95 lakh instead of 3.85 lakh.

According to notifications released by the counselling authority, MBBS aspirants seeking admission to Rajah Muthiah Medical College will have to pay Rs.4.00 lakh per seat. Government Erode Medical College and Hospital, Perundurai, Erode is charging Rs.3.85 lakh per student while ESIC Medical College, K.K.Nagar, Chennai will be charging Rs.1.00 lakh (wards of I.P. Rs.24,000/- ) for MBBS admission this year.
