Chennai: The Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai has invited applications for Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy (DIP) & Diploma in Nursing Therapy (DNT)

According to the notification uploaded on the official website of TN Health, applications are invited for admission to 2 ½ years Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy Course and Diploma in Nursing Therapy Course conducted at Govt. Schools of AYUSH Paramedical Courses, Chennai and Palayamkottai for the academic session 2020-2021 from the candidates who have passed in Higher Secondary Course Examination (with science subjects) in first appearance.

2. Desirous Candidates can download the Application Form along with Option Form and Prospectus from our official website: " www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in " between 24-08-2020 and 18-09-2020 upto 05.00 p.m.
Application Form along with Option Form and Prospectus will not be issued at the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Office of the Selection Committee, Arumbakkam, Chennai 106 or at both the Govt. Schools.
3. Application Fee :
Application Form along with Option Form: Rs.350/-
Applicants must submit their filled in Application Form along with Option Form either through Postal or Courier Service or in person along with a crossed Demand Draft for the value of Rs.350/- (Rupees Three Hundred and Fifty only) towards Application Fee drawn from any nationalized banks on or after 24.08.2020 in favour of
"Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai 106'' payable at Chennai.
4. SC/SC(A)/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu are exempted from paying the cost of Application Fee.
5. The Last date for Downloading of Application Form along with Option Form: 18-09-2020 upto 05.00 p.m.
6. Filled in Application Form along with Option Form with all necessary enclosures should reach either through Postal or Courier Service

Instructions to Candidates

1. Use one common application form for both Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy & Diploma in Nursing Therapy courses.

2. Before filling up the application form, read all the instructions carefully.

3. Do not fold any of the forms under any circumstances.

4. Filled in application form along with Option form and all relevant enclosures prescribed may be delivered in person or by Registered post / Courier service / Speed post to:

Self Attested Photostat copies of the prescribed enclosures should alone be sent. Original Certificates should not be enclosed. Incomplete applications and the applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected.

5. The Secretary, Selection Committee ( Diploma Courses), Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Chennai 600 106 cannot be held responsible for the delayed receipt or loss in transit or on any other ground beyond the specified date and time. Applications received after the last date and time will not be accepted irrespective of the date of booking.

6. Request for extension of time for submission of documents called for after the specified date and time will not be entertained.

7. Any supporting documents received after the due date of submission of the application form or application received without required documents / particulars will not be entertained.

8. Candidates applying under Special Category too should fill up only the General application form.

9. Candidates selected under General Category will not be allowed to claim the very same status as the candidates selected under Special Category and vice- versa.

10. Merit list of the eligible candidates, counselling schedule etc. will be posted in the following website: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in 

11. The candidates are instructed to visit our official website www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in  at least two times a day for updates from the date of issue of application till the end of admission process without fail. Selection Committee will not be responsible for consequences resulting due to non-diligent follow-up of notices, notification and publications appearing on the website regarding admission to Diploma courses 2020-21 session.

12. Call letter can be downloaded from the above official website by entering one's Application Register Number (Please check it in the General Merit List uploaded in our website) and Date of Birth after the uploading of Counselling schedule in our website.

Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy Course (D.I.P) & Diploma in Nursing Therapy Course (D.N.T)

1. Eligibility:
The candidate should be a citizen of India.
2. Nativity:
(i) Candidate should be a native of Tamil Nadu.
(ii) Candidates who have studied from VIII to XII Standards in Schools in Tamil Nadu need not enclose "Nativity Certificate".
(iii) Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu but studied from VIII to XII Std. either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the "Nativity Certificate".
(iv) The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format available in the application form and supported by a copy of Passport/Ration card/Birth Certificate. If the copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application form will be rejected. Nativity Certificate produced later will be summarily rejected.
(v) Applications without a proper Nativity Certificate will not be considered.
(VI) Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted.
Note:
(a) Nativity Certificates should be produced as per instructions for Nativity Certificate. See Annexure – 1.
(b) Producing false Nativity Certificate if detected at any time later during the course of the study will result in the expulsion of the candidate and also initiation of criminal proceedings against the candidate as well as the parents as per law.
3. Age Limit:
The candidates should have completed the age of 17 years and should not have completed 25 years at the time of admission or would complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2020. Evidence should be produced.
4. (a) Qualification:
Candidates should have passed in all subjects of Higher Secondary Course Examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or the Senior Secondary School Examination under CBSE Pattern or equivalent examination with the following group of subjects i
n one and the same attempt.
(a) Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology; (or)
(b) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology; (or)
(c) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject.
Candidates who have passed in vocational stream, NIOS and private candidates are NOT eligible to apply for the above courses. Also, the marks obtained in the first attempt alone will be taken into consideration.
4. (b) Minimum Eligibility Marks:
For OC : Minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the Science subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
For BC/ BCM /MBC/DC : Minimum of 40% marks in aggregate in the Science subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
For SC/SCA/ST : Minimum of 35% marks in aggregate in the Science subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
5.  Special Categories :
(1) Seats earmarked for the special categories will be allotted following the Horizontal Reservation. If sufficient numbers of candidates are not available for allotment against any of the special category seats, the vacant seats will be added to the General pool of seats and filled up with candidates from merit list applying rule of reservation.
(2) The documents enclosed with the application form for substantiating their claim under Special Category will not be returned. Candidates are required to enclose only the Self attested Photo copies or self attested true copies of the certificates along with the application.
6. Medium of Instruction :
English shall be the Medium of Instruction for all the subjects of study and for examinations of the Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy (D.I.P) & Diploma in Nursing Therapy (D.N.T) Courses.
7. Duration of the Course:
(a) The duration of study for both the Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy (D.I.P) & Diploma in Nursing Therapy (D.N.T ) Course is 2 1/2 years including six months of NONSTIPENDIARY Compulsory Rotatory Internship training at various hospitals of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy Department. The students shall have to make their own arrangements for stay and travel during the period of study and training.
(b) Further, the intention of conducting these courses is to technically train the candidates to professionally function as Integrated Pharmacist and Nursing Therapist only. The government does not assure employment.
8. Curriculum:
The Curriculum and the Syllabi for the courses shall be as prescribed by the Governing Council for AYUSH Paramedical Courses of the Department of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy from time to time.
9. Centre for the Courses :
The Courses will be conducted at the following two centres:

10. Total Number of seats (Both D.I.P & D.N.T courses) :
(1) 50 seats in each centre for Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy course, out of which 25 seats will be reserved for men and 25 seats will be reserved for women. If male candidates are not available then the seats reserved for men will be filled up with female candidates and vice versa.
(2) 50 seats in each centre for Diploma in Nursing Therapy course, out of which 25 seats will be reserved for men and 25 seats will be reserved for women. If male candidates are not available then the seats reserved for men will be filled up with female candidates and vice versa.
11. Tuition Fees:
Rs. 3,600/- (Rupees Three thousand six hundred only) per annum for Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy Course and Rs.7,200/- (Rupees Seven thousand two hundred only) per annum for Diploma in Nursing Therapy Course will be collected from the respective candidates. The fee mentioned above should be paid at the time of receipt of Allotment order during counselling in the form of Demand Draft drawn on or after 22-09-2020 from any Nationalised Bank in favour of
"Director of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Chennai- 106" payable at Chennai.
12.  Method of Selection and Admission:
(a) Selection will be made on merit basis based on marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the prescribed science subjects at the qualifying examinations calculated to the base of 200 marks. The method of calculation is given below:

(b) Merit list will be prepared among all eligible candidates and will be published at the office of the Secretary, Selection Committee (Diploma courses), Directorate of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Chennai – 600 106 and the merit list will also be uploaded at our official website:- "www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in"
13. Determination of rank of candidates obtaining equal aggregate marks:
In cases where two or more candidates obtain equal aggregate marks for 200 in the Higher Secondary Course or equivalent examination, the inter se merit / rank of such candidates shall be determined on the basis of the following factors in the succeeding order.
(i) Percentage of marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together. (ii) Percentage of marks in Physics and Chemistry taken together.
(iii) Percentage of marks obtained in all subjects.
(iv) Date of Birth – Weight age will be given to Seniority in Age.

14. COUNSELLING :
Admission shall be made by single window counselling according to merit, choice of the candidate, seats available and following the rule of reservation as under:

i. Counselling will be held at the office of the Selection Committee (Diploma Courses), Directorate of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Arumbakkam, Chennai –600 106.
ii. The candidates are instructed to visit our official website www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in at least two times a day for updates from the date of issue of application till the end of admission process without fail. iii. Candidates will be called for counselling through SMS as per their merit and individual SMS will be despatched.
iv. The counselling schedule will be uploaded in our official website and Candidates are requested to attend the Counselling session based on the individual cut-off marks that falls within the session wise specified range of cut-off marks
v. At the time of counselling candidates can choose the Diploma Course/training School of their choices on merit basis and the same will be allotted as per the availability of seats following the rule of reservation.
vi. Those who get Re-totalled / re-valued marks during the first appearance only can also attend the counselling on the day and session according to their revised marks. If the candidate produces the Re-totalled / re-valued marks after the counselling is over and within the cut-off date then his/her name will be considered only for the existing vacancies available and he/she cannot claim any preferential rights for allotment according to merit under re-totalled / re-valued marks. Candidates who submit the retotalled / re-valued marks after the administrative cut-off dates fixed by Government will not be considered for selection.
vii. Candidates who are absent at the time of counseling without a valid reason for absence will not be considered for admission at a later date. However the Secretary, Selection Committee reserves the right to permit the candidate to attend the counseling, later, if a valid reason for absence is communicated to the Selection Committee before the commencement of the counseling. The candidates so permitted shall be eligible only to opt for the Training School or course where seats are available at the time of counseling when he/she actually attends.
viii. One parent will be allowed to attend the counseling along with the candidate and they have to make their own arrangements for attending the counseling session.
ix. SMS intimation to the individual eligible candidates regarding the counseling schedule or repetitions of the same cannot be presumed as a guarantee for admission since more number of candidates are intimated through SMS than the actual number of vacancies and allotment/admission shall be restricted to the availability of seats.
x. Counseling schedule will also be posted in the website: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in 
xi. Candidates can exercise their option for the Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy course or Diploma in Nursing Therapy course and the School of their own choice at the time of counseling, and allotment is subject to availability of seats. Individual request for change of course or School will not be entertained after allotment of seat is made.
15. Special categories:
I. Seats reserved for children of ex-servicemen - Total 3 seats -
[ 2 SEATS FOR D.I.P. AND 1 SEAT FOR D.N.T. ]
The candidates should furnish a certificate as prescribed in the Format as in Annexure II obtained from the competent authority.
The special committee from the defence authorities constituted for this purpose will scrutinize certificates submitted by the candidates. Eligible candidates will be selected on merit basis. The other eligibility conditions for admission to DNT course and DIP Course will be applicable as in the case of General Category.
II. Seats reserved for eminent sportsperson - total 3 seats
[ 1 SEAT FOR D.I.P. AND 2 SEATS FOR D.N.T. ]
Selection will be done by the common committee constituted for this purpose. The mode of selection will be made as per the guidelines prescribed by the competent authority.
III. Seats reserved for differantly abled (only for diploma in integrated pharmacy course) : 5 seats
(i) 5% of the total numbers of seats available in Government medical institutions are reserved for physically challenged candidates. For filling up of reserved seats at the first instance, candidates with disability of lower limbs between 50% and 70% shall be considered and in case candidates are not available in that category then candidates with disability of lower limbs between 40% and 50% will be considered.
(ii) The candidate seeking admission under this category should furnish a medical certificate as prescribed in Annexure III obtained from the competent authority and also enclose full size photograph exhibiting the deformity along with the filled in the application. The decision of the Selection Committee in this regard will be final.
(iii) Both upper limbs, vision and hearing must be normal.
16. The Selected Candidates will be called for verification of certificates by the Head of training institution concerned. Candidates should produce the original mark- sheet of the qualifying examinations and other original documents, such as proof of age, community certificate, transfer certificate, a certificate for proof of special category etc. at the time of verification. Selection will be cancelled if the candidates do not produce all the original documents as required.
17. All communications regarding selection process should be addressed only to the Secretary, Selection Committee for Diploma Courses in Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Arumbakkam, Chennai –600 106.
18. An applicant will be disqualified if he / she attempts to canvass or bring influence on the Selection Committee personally or by any other mode of communication.
19. The selections for Diploma in Nursing Therapy and Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy courses are only provisional. The selection and admission is liable to be cancelled at any time as and when the eligibility conditions are found to be defective or incorrect or there has been suppression or misrepresentation of fact.
20. The right of the allotment finally rests with the Secretary, Selection Committee for Diploma Courses in Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Chennai –600 106.
21. Candidates selected for admission should execute Discipline Declaration Form as in Annexure-IV and failure to execute the declaration will result in cancellation of the selection.
22. No documents enclosed with the application will be returned. Candidates are requested to enclose only the Self attested Photocopies of the following certificates along with the application.
a. Mark sheet of H.S.C examination/any other equivalent examination duly endorsed by the competent authority. Photocopy of both the sides of the mark sheets should be enclosed.
b. Transfer Certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. (Academic) or an equivalent course.
c. Nativity Certificate ( wherever necessary).
d. Physical Fitness Certificate
e. Permanent Community Certificate Card (ST candidate should produce a Certificate issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer)
23. Candidates seeking Admission against Special Category seats should submit necessary certificates obtained from appropriate authorities in the prescribed form annexed and submit them along with the application.
24. Candidates should affix passport size photograph taken within three months prior to submission of application and duly self attested in the place provided in the application form.
25. All the entries in the application form should be written legibly by the candidate in his/her own handwriting. The candidate should ensure that all information including the marks in the qualifying examination furnished by him/her in the application and the enclosures are correct. The candidate is informed that later if it is found that the marks furnished by him/her in the application are not correct or any other information is found to be incorrect, then:
a. He / She has to forfeit the admission, no matter at whatever stage of the course he/she will be at that time.
b. He/She will be debarred from pursuing any studies for a period of three years.
c. Legal action / Criminal action will be initiated against him/her and also against his/her parent/guardian for furnishing incorrect information.
