Pudhukottai: Taking a drastic step, a NEET 2020 aspirant allegedly committed suicide after not receiving the NEET 2020 hall ticket, India Today has reported.

The student who hails from Tamil Nadu, was apparently severely depressed after she did not receive her hall ticket, even as her friends received theirs.

The deceased was worried that she might not be able to write the NEET exam and might not be able to fulfil the dream of becoming a doctor, took the drastic step on Sunday.

However, her hall ticket reached the next day. But she who was undergoing treatment at the Pudhukottai Government hospital passed away on Tuesday, reports India Today.

The situation in the country is so extreme that a few days ago, fear of upcoming NEET 2020 examination had allegedly led an MBBS aspirant girl student to commit suicide at her residence.

That came just a few days after the Supreme Court refused to postpone NEET 2020 in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The girl took the extreme step as she was scared of the approaching exam.

NEET- National Eligibility cum entrance test is the gateway to MBBS, BDS courses in the country. All candidates who intend to get admission into UG Medical and dental education have to qualify NEET.

The NEET 2020 will be held on 13th September as scheduled and the total of 15,97,433 Candidates are registered for the same.

Admit Cards have already been released.

In an effort to pull off NEET 2020 smoothly and keep up with the prevention and safety norms during the exam day i.e. September 13th, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has allotted separate rooms for aspirants who are infected with COVID-19 or are symptomatic. This is being done is order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
