Hyderabad: Hyderabad Hospital has been booked under Section 304A of the IPC after the parents of the newborn have accused the hospital of medical negligence.

A case has been registered against the Ankura Hospital for Women & Children and its doctors by the police after a 16-Day-Old Baby died at the hospital due to alleged medical negligence from the side of the doctors and the hospital management.

As per a media report in The New Indian Express, the police said that the baby was admitted to the hospital because of liver complications, and surgery was performed on the child from 4 pm to 7 pm. The child passed away after the surgery.

The parents of the baby alleged that there was no response from the doctors and the hospital when they enquired about the status and the reasons behind the death of their child.

The parents of the baby, eventually, registered a complaint, accusing the hospital and the doctors of treating their child with negligence. After that, the police registered a case under Section 304A of the IPC, said the Inspector of Banjara Hills police station, P Shiva Chandra. The inspector told TNIE, "A detailed probe is underway to know what led to the child's death. All documents related to the treatment and other details are also being verified."

The doctors, who treated the child from the time of admission and performed surgery, told the police that the child developed complications after the surgery on Thursday, and eventually died.
