NIMS to increase hospital beds to 3000, plans major upgradation
Hyderabad: The number of beds at Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), hospital will soon be increased from 1489 to 3000 as a part of major upgradation planned to enhance the healthcare facilities among others.
The refurbishment of the hospital and its expansion will provide a major boost to the medical fraternity catering to the local population, and is aimed at providing efficient relief during the much dreaded COVID third wave.
This comes in wake of directions given by the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekhar Rao to improve the infrastructure and healthcare facilities offered. In this regard, plans have been devised on a larger scale to implement it and State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar also visited the hospital.
As per a recent media report in The Siasat Daily, it has been decided to increase the number of beds in the hospital from 1489 to 3000. In addition to this, 500 beds will be arranged in trauma care and medical tourism respectively.
