Woman allegedly dies by suicide days after giving birth at Nalgonda Govt Hospital

Nalgonda: A 27-year-old woman who gave birth to a baby boy eight days ago allegedly died by suicide at the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Nalgonda in the early hours of Wednesday. 

The deceased was identified as a resident of Chikatimamidi village in Munugode mandal. She had delivered a baby boy at the Mother and Child Hospital at GGH approximately eight days before the incident. According to reports, she already had three daughters.

The woman had been staying in the hospital following the delivery when she allegedly came out of the ward during the early hours of Wednesday. The woman was later found in a shed located near the post-mortem hall on the hospital premises, where she allegedly died by suicide.

The circumstances surrounding her movement out of the ward have not been disclosed. It was also not immediately known what prompted her to take the extreme step, reports Deccan Chronicle. 

At the time of reporting, hospital authorities had not released any details regarding the events preceding the incident.

Following the incident, police initiated an investigation and began examining the circumstances surrounding the woman's death. Officials are expected to gather details related to the sequence of events and verify the facts connected to the case as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The investigation remains in progress, and further information is expected to emerge once police complete their preliminary inquiry and collect statements and other relevant details related to the incident.
