Lucknow: NEET aspirant falls to death from 9th floor
Lucknow: In an unfortunate incident, a 22-year-old NEET aspirant passed away after allegedly falling off the ninth floor of a high-rise apartment complex in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf City area.
According to the police, the aspirant went to a friend's party on Monday night and was standing on the balcony of the 9th floor when she lost control and fell from the ninth floor of the building.
The deceased was preparing for the medical entrance examination while staying in Lucknow. She was staying in an apartment in the complex with a friend. They were hosting a party when she slipped off its balcony while talking on the phone around 11 pm.

Although the reason behind her sudden fall is unclear, police suspect that she was maybe drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes on the balcony while talking to her friend. They suggest that the incident is more likely a result of consuming too much alcohol rather than any intentional harm, as there were no visible signs of a physical fight, Republic World reports.
“The family of the woman’s friend was present in the house when the incident took place,” said station house officer of Sushant Golf City police station Anjani Mishra.
“Originally from Sitapur, she was living with her friend.... They were reportedly hosting a party on Monday night,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh informed IANS.
“It is said that during the party, the girl was standing on the balcony of the ninth floor when she lost control and fell,” the ADCP added.
Following the accident, the two friends of the woman along with others rushed her to a nearby private hospital, however, the doctors declared her dead.
Moments later, the police were informed of the matter and a preliminary investigation was conducted upon their arrival. While investigating the case, the police questioned the friend with whom the woman was staying.
According to a TOI news report, he informed police that he was in the flat with friends when they heard the sound of falling. "They came running out and took her to the hospital,” said police.
“The police have handed over the body to the family members after a post-mortem examination on Tuesday. The family members have not filed any complaint in the police station,” ADCP added.
The police are yet to launch an investigation into the case until a complaint is filed by the family members of the deceased.
