Noida shocker: Doctors family assaulted by patient's Kin
Noida: In a shocking incident, a doctor's family recently became the victim of violence by a patient's relatives. Based on the report filed by the doctor's family at Sector 20 police, a probe has been started on the matter.
According to a recent report by HT, the patient, who came to the doctor's clinic on December 24 for consultation, later came back with her relatives and allegedly manhandled the doctor's family. The patient had been undergoing diagnosis and treatment by the doctor
Recounting the incident from the scratch, the complainant told HT, "The patient had been complaining of vaginal bleeding for the past two months and was undergoing treatment at our clinic. She had been advised an ultrasound which was conducted on December 24, when she visited us. After studying the ultrasound, my mother (the doctor) advised her to get a DC (Dilation and Curettage) based on the findings of the ultrasound."
However, the next day they came back with other relatives and started misbehaving. In the process, the in-laws of the complainant got abused and sustained injuries, as described by the complainant.
She further added, "They claimed that they were associated with a prominent news channel and threatened to get the clinic shut down. They broke the windows of the clinic and tampered with the machines. My father-in-law tried to talk to them 7, but they kept misbehaving with us, after which we called the police."
The family claimed non-cooperation and delay regarding the case being registered by the police. They even shared the ordeal on social media regarding the same. The report by HT also adds that videos of the incident showed the suspects misbehaving with the police as well.
However, police officials have denied such claims and have registered an NCR at the Sector 20 Police station under sections 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the Indian Penal Code against the patient, her husband and other relatives, reports HT.
Denying the delay regarding the matter, RK Singh, station house officer of sector 20 Police Station, informed HT, "The suspects have been identified and we are looking into the case. Due action will be taken soon."
