Prayagraj MBBS student death case: Family alleges foul play, demands probe as postmortem allegedly found poisoning
Prayagraj: Following the death of a fourth-year MBBS student at United Medicity Medical College, in Prayagraj, her family has alleged foul play and demanded a detailed police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Medical Dialogues had reported that the 22-year-old fourth-year MBBS student was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her hostel room in Prayagraj. The student, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was found unconscious in her hostel room on Sunday morning. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead after examination.
Her family has now submitted a written complaint to the police, expressing suspicion that her death may not have been natural and has demanded the registration of an FIR and a detailed investigation into the matter.

According to the complaint filed by her father, the student was in good health and had spoken to her family on the night of June 20. During the conversation, she did not mention any illness, stress, or other concerns. The next morning, the family was informed that her condition had suddenly worsened and that she had been admitted to the ICU in critical condition.
Her father and other family members have strongly rejected claims that she suffered from epileptic seizures. They said she never had such a medical condition. While she had undergone a leg surgery around two to two-and-a-half years ago, they stated that she had recovered completely and was healthy thereafter.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination reportedly revealed that she died due to poisoning. However, the exact substance responsible for her death is yet to be identified.
Following the post-mortem examination, her last rites were performed on Sunday evening at Daraganj Ghat.
Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Airport Police Station SHO Rajesh Upadhyay said, "A written complaint has been received from the victim’s father and an investigation is underway."
