Apollo Hospitals Group to set up hospital in Navi Mumbai
MUMBAI: Apollo Hospitals Group today said it will set up its 65th hospital in Navi Mumbai, close to the Mumbai-Pune expressway.
"Navi Mumbai is fast developing, and patients sometimes have to go to Mumbai and Pune for their healthcare needs. Looking at the need to minimise travel, as time is critical to save life, the upcoming hospital will also cater to Panvel, Taloja, Raigad and surrounding areas," Apollo Hospitals CEO Narendra Trivedi told reporters here.
The Navi Mumbai hospital will have 500 beds and its location close to the Mumbai-Pune expressway will enable it to provide emergency medical services in case of road accidents, Trivedi added.
"We are now looking at expanding in neighbouring countries and the African sub-continent. I am excited about our focus in areas of global clinical trials, hospitals in semi-urban India, etc," Apollo Hospitals Executive Vice Chairperson Preetha Reddy said.
