J&K: Centre allocates over Rs 3 crore under National AYUSH Mission
Srinagar: In a recent order released by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, a budget allocation of Rs 3 crore 59 lakhs has been given to the Director of Ayush in J&K for implementation during the current financial year 2022–2023 under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme "National AYUSH Mission."
The funds have been transferred into a Single Nodal Account (SNA) of the National Ayush Mission (NAM). An official order in this regard reads, "Advance drawl of Rs. 359.595 lakhs (Rupees Three Crore Fifty-Nine Lakh Fifty-Nine Thousand & Five Hundred) only as detailed above, by Director Ayush, J&K for e-transfer of funds into Single Nodal Account (SNA) of National Ayush Mission (NAM) for utilization during the current financial year 2022-23 as per the revised procedure of CSS funds notified by Ministry of Finance, Government of India on 23-03-2021 read with other SOPs/ guidelines duly circulated by the Finance Department."
In order to upgrade and develop the infrastructure of J&K medical colleges and hospitals, the centre released the funds. Government Unani Medical College & Hospital Ganderbal (GUMC), Government Ayurvedic Medical College (GAMC) Akhoor, Jammu will benefit from the funds.
Aside from the medical colleges and hospitals, standalone Ayush Hospitals will be also upgraded from the funds. Four units of the Ayush hospitals including Ayush Unit Handwara, Government Medical College, Jammu, Government Ayurvedic Hospital and GUH will be re-developed.
As per Rising Kashmir report, The order also mentioned the up-gradation of Govt. / Panchayat/ Govt. Aided Dispensaries. The funds have been allocated to utilize in a bulk for the year 2022-23.
It has been also revealed that a 50-bedded Ayush hospital will be set in three different locations including Kupwara, Billawar and Kulgam. The funds to establish these three buildings will be taken from the allocated funds.

To provide confirmation of the funds being utilized in the above-mentioned facilities, the Government of India directed the Director of Ayush in J&K to provide a Utilization Certificate (UC) soon before March 31st 2023.
"Director Ayush, J&K shall draw the funds as per actual demand/requirement. All codal formalities as per GFR 2017 shall be followed while incurring expenditure out of the funds authorized. The funds shall be utilized for the specific purpose only without any deviation. UCs/Red Accounts of the advance drawal shall be furnished to the concerned quarters within a stipulated time," reads the order.
