Anakapalli Panchakarma Camp enters Book of World Records after treating 548 patients

A three-day Panchakarma camp at Arogyadhatri Ayurveda Research Institute in Anakapalli provided free Vasti Karma treatment to 548 patients, earning recognition in the Book of World Records.
Anakapalli: A three-day Ayurvedic treatment camp in Anakapalli has achieved a record after 548 patients received Vasti Karma free of cost, earning recognition in the Book of World Records. The mega Panchakarma camp was organised at the Arogyadhatri Ayurveda Research Institute in Koduru village as part of Charaka Jayanti celebrations.
The programme was jointly organised by Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad, Andhra Pradesh, and Varamu Charitable Trust to provide free Ayurvedic treatment while highlighting the therapeutic practices associated with Ayurveda. The camp mainly catered to patients with Vata-related ailments, including chronic back, neck and knee pain, joint disorders, frozen shoulder and other musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

The achievement was formally verified by The Book of World Records. Yatish Shukla, Chief Adjudicator- India, personally monitored the proceedings and the verification process. Following an assessment of the programme and its execution, he presented the World Record Certificate, trophy and medal to T Sundara Raj Perumall, Director of Arogyadhatri Ayurveda Research Institute and founder and president of Varamu Charitable Trust, reports The Hans India.
The camp involved a structured process of registration, screening, treatment and documentation. The Vasti Karma procedures were administered under the supervision of trained Ayurveda physicians and medical personnel.
The three-day event also featured several traditional and academic activities connected with the legacy of Acharya Charaka. These included Dhanvantari Havanam, Charaka Parayanam and Tadvidya Sambhasha, along with Ayurveda-based community health activities.
More than 200 patients additionally underwent specialised procedures such as Viddha Karma, while Agnikarma treatments were also conducted during the camp.
The mega Vasti Karma initiative was mentored by N Anjaneya Murthy, referred to as ‘South Indian Charaka’ in the programme, who served as its chief technical advisor. He guided the medical team on therapeutic principles, administration and post-treatment care.
The medical team also advised beneficiaries on diet, lifestyle and appropriate care following treatment, as part of the overall Ayurvedic management provided during the camp.
