Delegates from 28 countries visit AIIA, attend lecture on traditional knowledge of holistic healthcare system
New Delhi: As many as 32 government officials from 28 countries visited the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation program organized by, IIPA, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The officials also took a round across the hospital and academic blocks of All India Institute of Ayurveda and witnessed various therapies including Panchakarma.
The officials also participated in an interactive a lecture on ‘Leading towards health for all with traditional knowledge of holistic health care system’, which was delivered by Director of the institution, Prof. (Dr) Tanuja Manoj Nesari.
She said that Ayurveda is a holistic tertiary care system and is focused towards taking the patients from the state of illness to wellness and finally to happiness.
During the lecture she highlighted the role of modern technology in propagating the role of Ayurveda, such as development of eSanjeevani app that caters to millions of people every day.
During the interaction with the team on international collaborations in the field of traditional medicines, she said, “The Ministry of Ayush is enthusiastic about organizing such programmes and collaborating with different nations through training and exchange programmes through its International Cooperation Section and can help propagate use of traditional medicine systems across the globe.”
Participants take part in 5-min Yoga break.
The participants took part in a 5-min Yoga break that was led by Yoga-instructor of the institution Dr Namrata Raj. The break included practice of warm-up exercises, asanas and pranayamas such as Bhramari, Anulom-Vilom, deep-breaths and chanting of Om.
“We are privileged to welcome government officials from 28 nations and believe that after visiting the institute, they will spread the benefits of Ayurveda across their nations”, said Dr Nesari in her address.
The officials, who visited All India Institute of Ayurveda on Wednesday consisted of officials hailing from countries such as Botswana, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Mali, Tajikistan, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Cuba, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Tunisia, Sierra Leone, Belarus, Mozambique, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Tanzania, Oman, Mongolia, Kenya, Cameroon, Bhutan, Bangladesh.
Dean (Phd.) Prof. (Dr) Mahesh Vyas, Dean (PG) Prof (Dr) Anand More, Dean International Cooperation Cell, Prof (Dr) Jonah Sandrepogu, Associate Dean, International Cooperation Cell, Professor (Dr) Rajagopala, Medical Superintendent Prof (Dr) Anandraman Sharma PV, research coordinators Dr. Manisha Thakur and Dr. Varun Gupta, and other officials and faculty members were also present on the occasion.
