PM Modi to attend inauguration of All India Institute of Ayurveda, Dhargal on December 11: Goa CM Sawant
Panaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the concluding function of the World Ayurveda Congress, and the inauguration of the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Goa on December 11 at Kala Academy and other campuses, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday.
Talking to reporters, Sawant said the prime minister will attend the inauguration of the All India Institute of Ayurveda at Dhargal in Pernem taluka of North Goa.
He will later be present for the concluding function of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress in Panaji, which will be inaugurated on December 8, he said.
Ayurveda scholars from 37 countries will participate in the World Ayurveda Congress, which is the biggest event of the AYUSH ministry, the chief minister said.
Consultations for Ayurveda, yoga, and naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and homeopathy streams of medicine will be held during the event, he added.
The chief minister said for the first time, the state will organise the Ayurveda Congress on this high scale, and Goans should avail of free facilities that will be made available during the event. Public will also be able to attend the expo without charges, reports TOI.
"Being an ayurvedic physician, it is a big moment for Goa that the World Ayurveda Congress is being held here," said Sawant. The facility of OPDs at Dhargalim hospital has already been started, while others are likely to begin shortly.
It is expected that the event will be attended by more than a lakh people coming from all the states; around 4500 delegates have registered so far.
Chief Minister Sawant further added that 37 countries would attend the mass event of the World Ayurveda Congress.
