Prataprao Jadhav calls for wider use of Hindi for public outreach
Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav stressed the wider use of Hindi and other Indian languages to improve transparency, public communication and access to Ayush-related research, schemes and information. The remarks were made during the third meeting of the Ministry’s Hindi Advisory Committee in New Delhi.
New Delhi: Making AYUSH-related information more accessible to people could strengthen public outreach and improve communication around government initiatives, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav said, stressing the use of Hindi and other Indian languages in the Ministry’s work.
Jadhav made the remarks while chairing the third meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of AYUSH at Kartavya Bhawan-I in New Delhi. He said Hindi should be viewed not simply as an official language requirement but as a practical tool for communication, transparency and public welfare.
The meeting was attended by MPs Rahul Singh Lodhi and Gyaneshwar Patil, AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, committee members and senior officials from the Ministry and its subordinate institutions.

Jadhav called for wider use of Hindi in the Ministry’s routine functioning and encouraged officers and employees to incorporate the language into official work. He also linked the promotion of Indian languages with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on preserving and promoting Indian languages, reports DD India.
The Minister particularly highlighted the need to make Ayush-related knowledge available to a wider audience. This includes research findings, scientific literature, welfare schemes and information on the Ministry’s work. He noted that Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy have gained popularity in India as well as internationally, making accessible communication around these systems increasingly important.
Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha outlined measures being undertaken to increase the use of Hindi across official correspondence, publications, the Ministry’s website, social media platforms and public relations activities. Training programmes, workshops and incentive schemes are also being used to encourage officials and employees to adopt Hindi in their work.
The committee discussed ways to expand Ayush information in Indian languages and strengthen communication with the public. The discussions focused on making information related to the Ministry’s activities and Ayush systems more accessible through wider language outreach.
The meeting also saw the release of the Ministry of Ayush’s Hindi house journal, Apratim Ayush. Purnima Bose, Deputy Director, Department of Official Language, welcomed participants, while Dr. Prakash Kumar, Assistant Director, Ministry of Ayush, conducted the proceedings.
Non-official committee members Markandey Rai, Thinles Dorje, Sunil Mehru, Ramya Krishna Kanaparthi and Hemchandra Vaidya also participated in the meeting.
