Renowned Ayurveda physician Dr Raghavendra R Bhat passes away at 46

Honnavar: In an unfortunate incident, renowned Ayurveda physician, academic, and researcher Dr. Raghavendra R. Bhat passed away on April 22 at the age of 46.
Widely respected for his dedication to traditional medicine and patient care, his death has left a significant void in the medical and academic communities of the Uttara Kannada district. Dr. Bhat served as a professor at an Ayurveda college in Siddapur, where he played an instrumental role in educating and mentoring future practitioners of Ayurveda. He was known for his deep knowledge of Ayurvedic principles and practical healing methods and for his commitment to preserving and advancing traditional Indian medicine.

Beyond his academic contributions, Dr. Bhat was widely recognized as an accomplished practitioner in the field of Ayurveda. He also established and successfully operated an Ayurveda medicine manufacturing unit in Honnavar in partnership with Manjunath Bhat, as reported by Udayavani. Through this initiative, he played a significant role in promoting the production and wider accessibility of authentic herbal medicines rooted in traditional Indian healing systems.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Dr. Bhat owned and managed a hospital in the region, where he provided treatment to hundreds of patients over the years. Known for his patient-centric approach, he relied on holistic Ayurvedic therapies to address a wide range of health concerns. Patients and their families often regarded him as a dependable and caring physician who was deeply invested in their well-being.
He is survived by his father, Shri R. M. Bhat, a retired KDCC Bank official, and his mother, Smt. Savitri Bhat, a retired postal department officer. He also leaves behind his wife, who is a doctor.
Several dignitaries, colleagues, and members of the medical fraternity have expressed profound grief over his untimely passing. They have remembered him as a compassionate healer, a committed teacher, and a visionary who made meaningful contributions to the field of Ayurveda.
