Rs 12.5 crore Integrated AYUSH Hospital coming up in Dharamshala

AYUSH Hospital
Kangra: Dharamshala is poised to receive a major upgrade in healthcare infrastructure as the AYUSH Department has begun construction of a modern, integrated AYUSH hospital near the district Ayurvedic hospital.
The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 12.5 crore under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), will have a capacity of 50 beds and is aimed at improving access to traditional systems of medicine for residents of the region and nearby areas.
The proposed four-storey facility will provide a comprehensive range of treatments under one roof, covering Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. One of the key features of the hospital will be its dedicated Panchakarma therapy section, which will include well-equipped and specialized wards designed to deliver effective detoxification and rejuvenation treatments in a structured clinical setting, reports Amar Ujala.

Officials stated that the hospital will include private wards, modern medical equipment, and upgraded infrastructure to ensure patients receive high-quality care comparable to that offered by private healthcare institutions. The integration of advanced facilities with traditional treatment methods is expected to enhance patient outcomes. Additionally, six specialist posts have been approved to ensure efficient operation of the hospital and to strengthen its ability to handle a wider range of health conditions, including chronic and lifestyle-related diseases.
The project is expected to significantly reduce the need for patients to travel to other cities for treatment, thereby saving time and costs while improving convenience. It will also contribute to the promotion and wider acceptance of traditional Indian systems of medicine in the region.
District AYUSH Officer Shri Brij Nandan Sharma confirmed that construction work is underway and progressing as planned. He added that the hospital is expected to be completed within the stipulated timeline and will play a crucial role in strengthening healthcare services and accessibility in Dharamshala.
