Modern Surgical Facilities
Varanasi: Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Minister Dr Dayashankar Mishra has said that public confidence in Ayurveda has increased significantly, and modern resources will soon be made available in Ayurveda hospitals to strengthen surgical services.
Addressing the inaugural session of the two-day Sushrut Kon-2026 at the Government Ayurveda College in Varanasi, the minister said the AYUSH department considers the expansion of surgical facilities a priority. He emphasised that to support this objective, modern equipment and advanced resources will be made available in Ayurveda hospitals.
Referring to the ongoing conference, he highlighted that live surgical demonstrations are being conducted as part of the academic programme, providing participants with an opportunity to observe specialised procedures and learn from experienced practitioners. Dr Mishra also described Varanasi as the land of Lord Dhanvantari and Acharya Sushruta, who is widely regarded as the pioneer of surgery and whose contributions continue to inspire advancements in Ayurvedic surgical practice, reports Live Hindustan.
